when visiting places, we love to include the market place in our travel itinerary - one never knows what surprises wait there. It can be spices from a Tunisian market or dates and variety of dates from a market in Madinah. Just as there are over 200 variety of potatoes, the bananas too have just as many variety, a visit to a market in Kuching confirms this and one never knows what educational experience this could be. The seafood - are just excellent whether it's from a market in Japan or Seattle or even Bayan Baru. Sarikin market which is at the border of Sarawak and Indonesia offers cinnamon at fraction of the price for cinnamon that grace tourist shops in Australia.
A visit to Pasar Filipina in Kota Kinabalu has a special catch of its own: fresh water pearl, sea pearl and strawsky crystals...a delight to the eye and refreshing to the mind...and the flowers are just amazing - daffodils from a market in Northfield, Birmingham never fail to brighten my day. The bric a brac at Hartville market, Kent is such a delight that a friend has made this market a must go to place in the summer . The market too, may not mean a regular market , we wanted to go to the Columbus Fish Market but was told that it is actually a seafood restaurant...
| Quote: | kuzi: cool suggestion, simpan duit so that next world cup, masa depa tengok bola, kita leh gi shopping
rossya: selain melawat pasar, dapat tengok kehidupan harian masyarakat setempat, ni tak dak tulis dalam tourist guide book
luq: emm, did they really cook the ketam hidup hidup? as long as they don't eat it alive... |

It's getting more feverish now on the eve of the final of the finals - even at home and on the fotopages too - everybody at home is excited to give comments of their favorite team...
One little catch -
....imagine these people many years ago and what they are saying now about their teams - Enjoy the photos...
| Quote: | for the children: From Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 10, Number 505:
Narrated 'Abdullah:
I asked the Prophet "Which deed is the dearest to Allah?" He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents" I again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's cause." 'Abdullah added, "I asked only that much and if I had asked more, the Prophet would have told me more."
For the parents:
...You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday...

Ammar is in the school football team...
|
|
It starts with the male population at home (they happen to win by simple majority) getting the world cup fever...
apparently other TV programmes ceased to be aired and it's football, football, football..., first it was the 32 teams, and 24 games and repeats and more repeats, then it's the 16 group, more games and repeats that never tires, and Ammar said there'll be more games...
Then Ammar was selected to his school's football team... Ammar is overjoyed and happy now to be back home and in school - Alhamdulillah
So finally kak ya had to be assertive and hence the notice posted on top of the TV set announcing her time too...(last picture)

The age old adage still holds true:- it's better late than never so, with that in mind, we celebrate a simple but meaningful father's day. The cake had to have the wording in Bahasa Malaysia and the word father now can be translated as: ayah, abah, papa etc. Bapa was the word chosen because someone thought that 'bapa' is the more common translation for father
So, sambil cak buat doa selamat untuk Aiman to KMPP, ... we had a little diversion - celebrating father's day.
| Quote: | kuzi - bestnyer dapat cakap tefon dgn kuzi
rossya - kek tu biasalah...
luq - nak makan gulai ikan kering tu, mai lah, ikan terubuk pun ada juga
nadi - tu abah tengah cari phone zaman dolu dolu lah untuk nadi...
fallllllllll - you miss the cake but all of us here miss you... |
